Claymation Camp

Welcome Parents!

Welcome Parents!

This camp is designed to teach your children about claymation, stop-motion animation, and film-making techniques. We're excited to encourage their interests in storytelling, video editing, and and more during this camp!

Below is an itemized list of materials your child will need each day and an overview of the activities we'll be working in this week. Along with that we will also be listing any resources you might need as well. We also ask that you and the camps read through the Internet Etiquette form and submit it on the first day of camp.

Day 1

Day 1 is all about introducing your kids to claymation and stop-motion animation. We'll be going over the tools they'll need for the week and how to use editing software.

Day 2

On Day 2 we'll be focusing on character development. Campers will be designing their own characters and building clay puppets to star in their films.

Day 3

Campers will be learning about the importance of storytelling on Day 3. We'll be workshopping their film ideas, playing fun story-based games, and learning how to storyboard.

Day 4

On Day 4, campers will learn how to record and input audio files and music into their film. We'll also be learning about Foley work and how to do it in your own home!

Day 5

Finally, on Day 5, we'll be having a showcase to highlight the amazing films your kids have been making this week. With the spare time we'll have in class, we'll be touching on special techniques campers can use in future films, like using green screens.

Claymation Camp Supply List

This camp has many technical requirements and might be tricky for some campers. Feel free to reach out to your instructor over email with any and all questions you might have, or join our daily Zoom conference call from 5-5:30 PM.

How can I reach out to the instructor?

You can click on the "Contact Instructor" button right above this FAQ, or join our conference call on Zoom that will be hosted every day from 5-5:30 PM. This time will be used to address any concerns and answer any questions about the camp and assignments.

What will my child need to succeed in this camp?

This virtual camp is heavily dependent on the work campers are able to do outside of their time with their instructor. Making sure your child has a space to work, the resources listed above, and time to work outside of camp will help them succeed.
